Pros
Great value golf balls; long, hold their line nicely in the wind, durable, spin nicely with the wedges, nice alignment aid
Cons
Still thinking of one

GolfMagic has taken the new VICE Golf Pro Plus golf ball out for a spin just days after its official launch, along with a host of new VICE balls, and we could not be more impressed with its performance and the value it offers.

An increasing number of golfers who experience using VICE Golf balls are typically left feeling one thing after the round, and that is value for money. With the new Pro Plus and Pro golf balls, costing just £2.09 per ball, you feel exactly that and more.

The new VICE Golf Pro Plus ball is best suited for the higher swing speed golfers among you, and ambitious golfers looking to take their game to the next level.

This 4-piece cast urethane ball stands out to its predecessor when it comes to ball speed, with both driver carry and total distance coming out a solid five yards further, and those mid-irons were also resulting in additional ball speed.

The ball spun nicely with the wedges too, and we noticed an increase of 200 RPM with our 56-degree wedge.

The newly designed, size-increased High Energy Speed Core (HESC) with higher compression rewards high swing speeds with more ball speed and thereby more driver distance.

Its thicker outer mantle features a newly developed, highly versatile ionomer material to combine the advantages of high elasticity for increased carry distance and ball speed as well as soft feel.

We also love this ball on the greens, not only because it rolls pure but due to its alignment aid. Yes, this is a personal preference, but if you are typically someone who likes to mark your ball, clean it and then line it up with the cup, then this one is for you.

Forget about using a Sharpie line on your ball, you have got an adapted KIL-putting line for better visual perception of alignment when addressing the ball.

The extra-long and highly visible "Keep In Line" (KIL) putting line with sharp edges has been developed in collaboration with amateurs and teaching professionals to meet the highest putting and alignment needs.

We also found it to be one of the most durable premium golf balls we have tested this season with its impressive 336 dimple design holding up to a number of slightly thinned iron shots on the back nine.

While we tested this ball in white, it also comes available in neon lime and neon red should either of those colours take your fancy.

VERDICT

One of the best value for money golf balls in the game right now. At £2.09, the equivalent of less than £30 per dozen, you really cannot go wrong with this one.

The Pro Plus is long with low driver spin, and we found it to be accurate with just about every club in the bag, especially out in the wind. It holds its line nicely.

It spins where you need it most with the scoring clubs, too, with lots of green-grabbing control on those 52, 56 and 60-degree shots around the green or from the greenside bunker.

We love the alignment aid line as it aids lots of confidence on the greens, and the durability of this ball is as good as it gets.

Highly recommended if you are in the market for a premium golf ball that is going to save you a bit of dough in these tough, unprecedented times.
