For those new to Arccos and its products, let us do a quick intro. The brand is one of the leading lights in shot tracking, offering golfers the ability to tap into PGA Tour-level analytics thanks to an array of innovative tech.

The company has tracked close to 900 million shots to date, and on average, users of its devices shave five shots off their handicap in the first year of use. 

The Link Pro, which was launched this year, works in tandem with the brand's Smart Sensors, Smart Grips and the Arccos app to seamlessly track each shot you make while giving you advice on what clubs to use, thanks to the caddie function. 

While the level of data provided by Arccos has always been first-rate, we have encountered issues with the brand's wearable tech in the past.

The previous generation of the Link, for example, needed to be charged after every round, and due to the fact it needed to be clipped onto a belt or pocket, it also looked slightly odd. 

The standard of shot tracking, while very good, was not always completely foolproof, and a post-round edit was occasionally necessary.

With all that being said, though, thanks to the new features offered in the Link Pro, those issues should be a thing of the past.

To see if they were, we took the Link Pro out for a number of rounds to fully stress test it.

Arccos Link Pro: What's in the box?

Opening up the Link Pro box for the first time, you will find three pieces of kit.

The first of these is the Link Pro itself. The lightweight device is roughly the size of a key fob and weighs just under 25 grams, allowing it to easily fit in your front trouser pocket without interfering with your swing. 

The second key piece of kit is the charging case. This new charging case is arguably our favourite new feature. It allows you to charge the Link Pro wirelessly and carries up to 12 rounds worth of battery from one full charge.

Size-wise, it's roughly the dimensions of a thick wallet but fits easily in any pocket of your bag, allowing it to be tucked away, charging your Link Pro between rounds. 

The third and final piece of the puzzle is the USB-C cable you will use to charge the battery pack. 

It will take roughly four hours to charge the pack to full capacity. 

Arccos Link Pro Performance

Testing the Link Pro out for the first time, we were incredibly impressed. The device fits so easily in your pocket that you barely notice it's there.

Weighing less than 25 grams, the Link Pro is an ideal weight because it's light enough not to interfere with your swing but just heavy enough to remain in your pocket without bouncing out when you swing. 

The device also comes with a very handy pin locator button, which allows you to notify the app exactly where the hole is to give you more accurate putting statistics. 

The button is firm enough to give you a responsive click, so you know it's registered each press.

Once you have connected the link to your phone, it really is as simple as putting your phone away and enjoying your round, only needing to take the Link out of your pocket to mark the pin. 

The only other time it can sometimes be necessary to get your phone out is to add in penalty strokes manually. The tech is good, but sadly, it's not good enough to know you've had to take a drop having smoked your ball into a lake. 

Having played three rounds with the Link, we are pleased to confirm that thanks to the newly improved microphone, the shot tracking is vastly improved. We did not have to enter or alter a single shot manually.

The new Link delivered a 100% accuracy rate. 

While we are reviewing the Link Pro as a device, it's also worth mentioning how extensive the round analysis on offer is.

We spent almost half an hour flicking through our round summary, looking at driving accuracy, weaknesses, strengths, club distances, and so much more.

If you're someone who loves their stats, then this is the device and app for you.

As previously mentioned, thanks to the new charging case, you can now just easily clip the Link back into the case and let it recharge before your next round without the need to plug it in at a wall socket.

All in all, this device is basically faultless. We will admit we have been shot tracking sceptics in the past, with the whole process having been quite fiddly. However, Arccos has now completely cracked it.

The shot tracking is seamless, battery life is no longer a concern, and the Link device is nicely tucked away. All of our previous concerns have been fully and comprehensively addressed.

Well done, Arccos.

Should you buy the Arccos Link Pro?

The short answer is yes. If you love tracking your shots and delving into the data behind your round, then the Arccos Link Pro is the best way to do it.

Offering seamless shot tracking, outstanding battery life, and a slim and easy-to-use device, the new Link Pro is the Rolls Royce of shot tracking devices.

If we had to pick one negative about the Link, it could be the price. We say could because we believe that if you are a serious golfer who is really eager to improve, then £199.99 is actually a relatively modest price to pay in order to do so.

However, if you're the type of golfer who only gets out once every two or three months, then the outlay may be tricky to justify.

Overall, though, we were incredibly impressed with the Link Pro and believe it has set the standard for shot-tracking devices in 2024.
