CityPoint Golf Swing Analysis 1: Brian Tracy

Iron swing

Way too flat, long and disconnected causing a classic arms dominant
re-route over the top causing the lower body pivot to stall and as such
nowehere neer enough weight on the front foot to compress the ball, as a
result the iron head will have too much dynamic loft and ball doesnt go
far enough.

GOLFMAGIC has teamed up with CityPoint Golf Studio this season to give our readers the chance to learn more about their own golf swings - and all for free!

First up, CityPoint's Chris Ingham takes a closer look at both iron and driver swing of Brian Tracy (BT@Home)...

Chris Ingham says...

Brian, thanks for taking the time to send in both your iron and driver swings in to us.

Let's start with your iron swing, see video above and image right.

On first look, it appears way too flat, long and disconnected causing a classic arms dominant re-route over the top.

This causes the lower body pivot to stall and as such, there is not enough weight on the front foot to compress the ball.

As a result, the iron head will have too much dynamic loft and you're therefore not maximising your distance.

Let's now take a closer look at your driver swing
